A word about the artist:
Born into an artistic family, Dorian Vallejo's career began when he started illustrating book covers as a student at the School of Visual Arts, in New York. As the field increasingly began to incorporate the use of computer-generated images, Vallejo felt the need to pursue other avenues with his art. His love of traditional media and the human figure drew him to portraiture and to focus more intently on his personal work, which he shows in galleries and online. These days Vallejo spends most of his time creating paintings and drawings for sale through galleries and directly to collectors.
And about his book:
Dorian Vallejo has been selling copies his book, Drawings Inspired by Life, with an original drawing or painting for years, and plenty of you may own this edition. What he didn't expect is that the original art created for the first pages of his collector's editions would later become their own independent body of work.
And this is how The Collector's Editions came to be and the origin of its name. It is the collection of all the original artwork Dorian has produced to include with his collector's editions, now available in one fabulous book of their own, a collector's edition of collector's editions! The book's foreword is written by the inimitable artist and illustrator, George Pratt.
The Premium Edition of The Collector's Editions is a 214 x 280 mm book and comes with several enhancements:
This premium edition was only available during the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, which ended on April 2, 2023. The standard edition is still avaible :)
