Richard Marazano is a prolific French comic book writer with more than forty albums to his credit!
Passionate about cinema (Billy Wilder, Lubitsch, Mankiewicz, Arthur Penn, etc.) and Russian literature, he set aside his studies in physics and astrophysics to join the comic book workshop at the Angoulême School of Fine Arts.
He then moved to Belgium to take advantage of the Brussels Film Archive and its daily screenings of three silent films. Naturally curious, he became interested in classical Greek, Persian, and Roman cultures, and later in Stoicism and Cynicism.
He has, in fact, never stopped reading travelogues spanning from antiquity to the mid-19th century.
Richard has worked notably with Soleil (Zéro absolu, a series published in the late 1990s), Les Humanoïdes Associés (Dusk, 2000–2002), Glénat (Cuervos, 2003–2006), and Dargaud (Le complexe du chimpanzé, 2007–2008; Le rêve du papillon, 2010–2014; Mémoires de la guerre civile in 2017; Le monde de Milo, 2013–2021…).
Circé is his second collaboration with Gabriel Delmas.
