RIFF Reb's was born in Algeria in 1960 and spent his childhood in Le Havre. He later studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs where he met Qwak, with whom he founded the Asylum workshop in 1985. Edith, Cromwell, Ralph and Joe Ruffner, to name but a few, would later join them.
RIFF Reb's first comic book project was Le Bal de la sueur, which became a trilogy published by Soleil Editions. This was followed by La Crève (Glénat), Le Kid et Bergson (Rackham), Myrtil Fauvette (Charrette), Glam et Comet (Glénat)... In 2009, he successfully published the adaptation of Mac Orlan's novel, À bord de l'Étoile Matutine (Soleil Editions) RIFF Reb's career is now focused on the sea, with the adaptation of Jack London's novel The Sea-Wolf, as well as short stories in the book Hommes à la mer (published by Soleil Editions).
RIFF Reb's work has been the subject of three exhibitions at the Daniel Maghen gallery. He signed his first book with Daniel Maghen Editions in November 2022: the enriched illustration of Stevenson's novel Treasure Island.
