For those who might not know him (yet), Stan Manoukian is a worldwidely reknown french artist whose main drawing subjects are imaginary monsters. His almost exclusively black and white art as well as his very own pencil stroke, make him an illustrator with an unmistakable style, very similar to the Lowblow movement.
His obsession with monsters started off in 2007. During this year, he challenged himself to draw one original monster a day, which is something he actually did for three years. These drawings were published as one artbook in 2009 by Ankama under the title Diary of inhuman species. Stan also already collaborated with publishers such as Glénat and Delcourt when he worked along with Vince, with whom he published Vortex, Les Chronokids… They incidentally received the Fauve jeunesse award at the festival international de la BD d’Angoulême in 2011!
Stan Manoukian’s works are regularly showcased in many international exhibitions in Japan, the US, and all through France and Europe.
Species vol. 2 is the second volume of Stan Manoukian's, gathering even more little monsters than in the first book!
What would Chucky look like as a little Stan Manoukian's monster? The answer in his Mini Encyclopedia of Monsters!
The first sketchbook of Stan Manoukian finally available as hardback!
