About the book:
The origins of a fairy tale or myth may be lost in the mists of time, but the main characters endure for hundreds, even thousands of years. Queens and princes, trolls and goblins, centaurs, selkies and magical beings all evolve with each new performance and retelling.
This action-packed book presents the unique interpretations of 50 specially commissioned artists, reimagining 50 classic characters.
From concept sketches to vignettes, emotions, expressions and outfits, the result is a revealing collection of each artist's ideas and experiences as they reimagine classic characters from fairy tales and folklore.
More than 2,000 drawings and sketches will keep us tethered to our tuffet, propped up on our elbows or reclining on our divan for hours!
