"LiberDistri was launched on November 11, 2016. I originally set up this small online store to sell sketchbooks by Korean artist Kim Jung Gi (which I had been importing since 2012 alongside my “real” job). The name of the site is a play on the word “Liber”. It refers both to the Latin word for “book” and, of course, to the idea of freedom offered by reading (especially in comparison to social media).
As the years went by, I founded Caurette editions, and with all the colleagues who joined me in this adventure (there are now 14 of us), we developed a specialized online bookstore with a strong focus on illustration in all its forms.
We are not a big brand, as you may have noticed. Our goal is to offer our customers a selection of quality works: books published by Caurette editions, hard-to-find books such as foreign imports, books self-published by artists, and also a few essentials that we particularly love.
Nine years later, LiberDistri is modernizing with a new logo and a new website that better reflect who we are."

The origins of LiberDistri
"LiberDistri was launched on November 11, 2016. Caurette editions was founded in 2016 by Jean-Christophe Caurette, who, lacking imagination, couldn't think of a better name!
At Caurette, we mainly publish art books by leading international illustrators. We also publish collections of comics for adults and young people, including new works, reissues, and translations. Occasionally, we release limited editions by authors with whom we have a special connection.
In other words, we publish a wide variety of works related to illustration and drawing, but always things we love! And for good measure, we also import (often exclusively) numerous art books that you can find in our online store.
Caurette editions has (in 2024) fourteen employees and generates approximately €2 million in turnover.

LiberDistri: behind the scenes
We don't have a physical store, everything happens online. Our stock is located in our brand new warehouse (just a stone's throw from our offices) and measures nearly 260 m². That's enough space to store a lot of pallets and books!
At Caurette & LiberDistri, we cultivate a good atmosphere every day! Between weekly jokes on the board, themed cooking competitions and outdoor lunch breaks, we never miss an opportunity to relax.
Prefer to do some sport? A game of badminton is often on the agenda, or running. And for those who like a nap, there are sofas available.
Cat lover? You have come to the right place: the team loves felines and you will even have the opportunity to admire the neighbors' cats.
Foodie? You will be in heaven! Our colleagues are excellent bakers and regularly bring in delicious cakes, just for the pleasure of sharing. To top it all off, we organize our famous summer raclette every year!
Every occasion is a good excuse to celebrate: Easter egg hunt, carnival, advent calendar, decorating the offices for Halloween and Christmas... No event is left out.
