Petzi is an animal-themed children’s series created in Denmark in 1951 by Vilhelm and Carla Hansen. A cult favorite in many European countries, his adventures have been translated into more than ten languages.

About Thierry Capezzone

Thierry Capezzone was born in Lyon in 1963. He has been a professional comic book artist since 1983 and has contributed to numerous series, including Les nouvelles aventures des Pieds Nickelés with Rodrigue, Vruble, and Deporter. In 2003, he developed the HC Andersen Junior series in Denmark, before it spread to several other countries. He also began working on the adventures of Petzi with a first album entitled Petzi et le volcan.

About Vilhelm & Carla Hansen

Born in Denmark, Vilhelm Hansen trained in lithography and then worked as an illustrator. His first comic strip, Firlingerne (The Quadruplets), appeared in the magazine "Hjemmet". His wife, Carla Hansen, was a comic book writer. In 1951, she wrote a children’s animal series for her husband, Rasmus Klump (Petzi). This quickly led to the couple’s success in the Danish publishing world.
