Gérard Moncomble was born on March 19th 1951 in Pas-de-Calais, France. He is a French children's books writer, scriptwriter and illustrator. Son of two teachers, and he studied philosophy, psychology and sociology.
As a prolific writer, he has written a lot without being systematically published. Gérard Moncomble writes the scripts for children's novels and comic strips, including Les Chroniques de Zilda T., with Alain Grand and Vilaine, with Alain Grand and David François. He is also the author of essays (Dire, Lire, Écrire ; La Drague, tout un programme), short stories, plays...
His books have been translated into many languages (German, Spanish, English, Japanese, Norwegian, Greek, Danish, Korean...). Balbuzar, illustrated by Frédéric Pillot and published in English by Caurette (that's us!), is a perfect example!
