About the book:
With Sharaz-De, Sergio Toppi is exploring comic's codes.
These two volumes, brought together in this unabridged version, are filled with short stories inspired by the One Thousand and One Nights. They represent a barbaric society where injustice can only be fought with the Supernatural.
The author anchors his aloof characters by confronting them to their fates, unfolding in unforgiving interlaces and enveloping arabesques... This tragic chaos is coming to life under Toppi's bold pictures' layout, his close-ups are only waiting for the reader's reaction! All this humanity, vulnerable and beautiful, can be seen through Toppi's graphic mirror.
Our delight is perceived as the King's, put under the spell of Sharaz-De, playing her song every night.
