About artist Abigail Larson

Abigail Larson is an illustrator based in Italy. She works primarily in pencil, ink, watercolor, and Photoshop, creating unique mixed media illustrations. She loves the strange and archaic, and when she's not drawing, she can be found watching reruns of Dark Shadows. She also enjoys traveling, researching myths and legends, and spending time with her four-legged friends (or with ghouls, ghosts, and other creatures that come out at night...).

Her greatest inspirations are fairy tales, folklore, and ghost stories. The works of Edgar Allan PoeH.P. Lovecraft, the Brothers Grimm, Shirley Jackson, and Angela Carter have always stimulated her imagination.

They are talking about it...

"Immerse yourself in the mystery and beauty of Abigail Larson's illustrations, thanks to Caurette editions. Divided into several themes, this book takes us on a journey through myths and legends. I invite those who—like me—love gothic atmospheres and tarot cards to fall in love with this marvel! I never tire of leafing through these illustrations and drawing inspiration from them. I sincerely believe that this is one of the most beautiful books in my library."
"A sublime collection of illustrations by Abigail Larson, an artist specializing in macabre and gothic illustrations. Each plate is more beautiful than the last! Gothic, horrific, tragic illustrations, but always romantic and elegant, like fairy tales! [...] If, like me, you are particularly receptive to the Victorian style, then let yourself be carried away and enchanted by the world of Abigail Larson. You won't regret it!"
