Masae SEKI learned that families are often different but love is the same. In this book about family, she reflects through illustration on her fond memories and moments with her family.
She dedicates this book to her parents who showered her with love and support, teaching her the importance of pursuing what she loves. After losing them, Masae felt in the beginning that drawing her memories with her family was the best way to cope with her emotional loss. As she created more and more of these drawings, she was urged to share her stories and allow other people to connect to them. Thus we have : "Kin".

This unique, charming and personal book includes original  sketches, drawings, and paintings in both digital and traditional mediums. Some of these are accompanied by short stories while in others, the pictures tell the tales. Masae hopes that people will view each of her illustrations as a small celebration of love and family in its many forms, and they will also see their own families in some of the illustrations.

The book also includes contributions from amazing artists: Bobby Chiu, Kei Acedera, Daniel Arriaga, Jim Bryson, Victoria Ying, Fatemeh HaghnejadLucy Feng and Ellie Horie.
