DongHo Kim, born in Seoul, travels a lot, and while doing so, he draws! After the success of his Urban Sketch Collection Book volume 1, which depicted mainly Korean landscapes, he comes back to us with this second volume “Space” (or for a more exact translation from the Korean, “I will draw the space for you”), a collection of drawings done while he was out and about, going around the world.
Through his eyes, great cityscapes as diverse as Tokyo, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chuncheon, Las Vegas, and amazing landscapes such as Bryce Canyon, Utah; Borakay, Phillipines; and Phuket, Thailand, are given fresh life, but his interpretation of these famous places sometimes tend to get very personal… !
Having majored in Comic Art, DongHo Kim says that what he enjoys the most is taking a place and adding his own characters or stories.
He has created this book hoping that readers will enjoy seeing famous landmarks and well-known places around the world and be inspired to explore this magnificent world that is all around them.
When he is not knocking about the world sketching, DongHo teaches at the Chungkang College of Cultural Industries, Icheon, South Korea, and participates in live drawing exhibitions for public and private partners like Wacom. He has also published a webtoon called 'Partition'.
