Pauline Voss is a German illustrator and concept artist. She is, as she says herself, in love with moonlight and impossible colors. Her art is dark, sexual, witchy and fantastic. She is impressive in her use of color and light, and in the way she creates particular moods.
Born into a family with no artists, drawing has always been a part of her life – she's been drawing since she could hold a wax crayon. Growing up, she decided to study game design, specializing in 3D. After graduating, she worked for a Berlin-based company as a background painter and 3D generalist. Following this experience, which lasted four years, she moved into art direction at Zoobe GmbH.
However, in 2016, after visiting the London Industry Workshop – her first art event – she realized that she wanted to devote herself to painting and drawing as a freelancer. There are several reasons for this choice. She would be her own boss, but, more importantly, she could develop her art further, travel and meet like-minded people, work on what was close to her heart, paint as much as she wanted, ... So, since 2017, Pauline Voss has made her dream come true and is working freelance. Her clients include Valve, Wizards of the Coast, Netflix, Disney and HarperCollins.
On a more personal level, Pauline Voss is involved in the “Mirror Mirror” project. This project aims to build a community where women can share their progress and talk about their stories, all in a safe and supportive environment. Over 150 women are currently taking part. The long-term goal is to create an art book filled with self-portraits that reflect who women are as artists and human beings.
