Postcard from Brussels is the third title in Dave McKean's “Postcard from” series. This new travel book draws inspiration from the streets, people, and buildings of Brussels. It was created using original drawings made during the winter of 2008/2009 (some in the Belgian capital, others at the artist's home).

The book contains black and white illustrations, produced with black ink and brush. The works depict statues and shop fronts. They also feature wonderfully surreal characters moving among the monuments and urban life.

Like the others in the collection, this sketchbook will delight McKean collectors, as well as all illustrators, graphic designers, and comic book authors.

About the artist Dave McKean

Born in England in 1963, Dave McKean has more than one string to his bow. The artist works in illustration, photography, graphic design, comics, and music. His creations combine several techniques, ranging from line drawing to sculpture and collage. In 1987, he created the graphic novel that made him famous, Violent Cases, with his collaborator at the time, screenwriter Neil Gaiman. Throughout his career, Dave McKean has illustrated comics, graphic novels, illustrated stories, album covers, and more. His work has won numerous awards, notably in the United States, Italy, and France.
