But what exactly is this book?
It is a pictorial biography of the great Gilbert Gascard, known as Tibet. It was previously available in a paperback edition, but this is a deluxe edition—even more beautiful and richer in content! ✨
The limited edition brings together the six chapters of the original edition (in the form of separate booklets), as well as an additional 32-page booklet titled “Le Dynamiteur.”
It therefore comprises seven chapters in total; these are housed in individual folders with flaps and grouped together in a double slipcase, making the book a true collector’s item. 📖
Each copy of this limited edition is printed on fine art paper and numbered from 001 to 300. And the icing on the cake: the book includes a foreword by Albert Uderzo.

Gilbert Gascard, known as Tibet (1931–2010), was a master of Franco-Belgian comics. He was only 16 years old when he joined the Disney studio in Brussels, contributing to the local edition of Le Journal de Mickey. When the opportunity arose to become a layout artist at Le Journal de Tintin, he did not hesitate and patiently honed his craft under the guidance of Hergé, Laudy, Jacobs, and others. Recognition came in 1952, when he created Chick Bill, the cowboy who roams the plains singing, and then Ric Hochet, whom he created in 1955 with Duchâteau.
Since then, he had devoted himself primarily to his two favorite characters, producing no fewer than two albums a year. Sixty-nine Chick Bill albums were published, along with 78 Ric Hochet albums. A record for longevity among comic book authors! In January 2020, the tenth anniversary of the artist’s death was commemorated.
