About artist Paul Dainton

Paul Dainton was one of Games Workshop’s most prolific artists, having worked on several editions of the Warhammer 40K game. His illustrations graced army books and codices, and could even be found inside every new unit box. This made him an iconic artist for Games Workshop. His artistic style draws on a sense of abstraction, much like the legendary John Blanche. However, he also manages to incorporate realism into the hazy atmosphere of battle. His work generally focuses on a central character surrounded by a “gritty” setting.

The Sketch.Box collection is an exclusive and unprecedented project that Caurette and Spiridon Giannakis have launched together. Their goal is to collaborate with artists to create an incredible collection of sketchbooks.
