"THE ART OF THE BANNCARS isn’t just an art book. It’s a love letter to the rides that fueled our imaginations—cars that leapt across ravines, vans that housed mysteries, and souped-up machines that transported us to whole new worlds. Buckle up. You’re about to take a ride through a gallery of legends, reimagined by one of the best in the biz." - Chris Prynoski, Founder of Titmouse Animation
10 years ago, one Sunday afternoon...
Bannister is bored. He turns on his computer to draw. His favourite subjects are vehicles.
"If you're gonna kill time by drawing a car, why not do it with some style?"
Bannister chooses the most iconic vehicle in pop culture: the DeLorean from Back to the Future. The car sits in the foreground, viewed from behind, in an enigmatic and misty atmosphere. In the distance stands a silhouette, that of Marty McFly. THE BANNCARS were born.
Bannister will go on to create over 100 of them, drawing from cult vehicles in cinema, comics and video games.
For the first time, the complete collection of THE BANNCARS will be available in a 256 page artbook.
The book also features 15 years of Bannister's work on vehicle design, with a chapter dedicated to animation. At the end of the book, an exclusive interview offers insight into Bannister's creative process.
