About the book

In a race against time, an earnest and determined Gelfling sets off on a mission to find a shard from the dark enchanted crystal. However, the evil Skeksis are equally determined to prevent this from happening at all costs. In a world where rocks talk and trees dispense wisdom from across the ages, anything is possible!

Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal has become a cult favourite since its 1982 release, and the movie’s puppet creatures, the creative manifestation of Brian Froud, famous for his distinctive fairy and dwarf designs, continue to capture the imaginations of fans to this day.

Now, fans can discover an in-depth look at these iconic creatures in Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal Bestiary - The Definitive Guide to the Creatures of Thra.

Illustrated by Iris Compiet, the acclaimed artist behind Faeries of the Faultlines and Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: The Official Bestiary, this book is a gorgeous volume filled with incredible creature artwork — a must-have tome for fans of The Dark Crystal, Jim Henson, Brian Froud, and the fantasy genre.
