About the Art Print

Three horsemen, carrying the banner of a king, a yellow clouded blue sky, the unassailable safety of a mountain fortress looming behind them, the cliff face impenetrable. On what mission have they been sent? With what undertaking have these valiant horsemen been entrusted? And what will befall them as they carry out their assignment? So many questions! Raphaël's expertise in creating an imaginary world, realistic yet fantastical, we are engrossed and absorbed, longing to be taken along on their journey.

Éditions Caurette participated in the March, 2024 IAMAG Master Classes event in Paris at Les Halles, and after one of his presentations, Raphaël Lacoste signed each limited edition art print, a high quality giclée print.

About the Artist

Raphaël Lacoste is a french art director and illustrator, born in Paris, in 1974. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux and attended the school of the Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée et de l'Image, in Angoulême, to learn 3D animation. Following his studies in animation, Raphaël Lacoste joined the video game company  Kalisto, as an environment artist. A few years later, he take the opportunity to become an art director at Ubisoft Montréal for the game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. He won a Visual Effects Society Award in 2006, for his work on cut-scenes from the game Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. As he wanted to discover the film industry, Raphaël joined the RodeoFX company in Montréal to work as a matte painter and senior concept artist on feature films such as Terminator: Salvation, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Jupiter Ascending. Today, we can even see his name written in the Ubisoft Company, as Franchise Art Director of Assasin's Creed.
