HANSEN Carla & Vilhelm

Carla and Vilhelm Hansen were a couple of Danish artists. Vilhelm studied lithography and worked as an advertising illustrator before drawing children’s comic books in the early 1940s. Carla was a writer, writing stories for children. They started working on the Petzi stories in 1951, which was a daily comic strip ordered by the Press-Illustrations-Office. After 1965, the series was picked up by other author-illustrators, the most recent being Thierry Capezzone.
