Jean-Marc Rochette takes an interest in children's literature in the 90's and illustrates classical tales with Jean-Luc Cornette: Hop-o'-My-Thumb, Puss in boots, Pinocchio... He goes back to science-fiction during the late 90's taking back the Snowpiercer project and creating Le tribut with Benjamin Legrand with whom he already worked on Requiem blanc in 1987.
He's working on several projects in the 00's including a project of painting and illustrating Candide by Voltaire in 2002 and the Odyssey in 2006. Between seven years in Berlin spent painting, he comes back in France and settles in the Alps. His work comes and goes between painting, sculpture, illustration and comics. He publishes in 2018 Ailefroide, altitude 3954, an autobiographical comic relating his passion for alpinism.
He questions the place of humanity within the whole animal kingdom in Le loup, released in 2019 and he won an award for it, the Wolinski prize 2019. His first artbook Vertiges was released in 2019 by the Daniel Maghen publishing house.
