About Dreambook
In Dreambook, Jaouen Salaün illustrates his dreams, his thoughts, and the images his brain produces when permitted to run free. The result is fantastic and strange drawings that can be either poetic, sensual, troubling, and just plain eerie; this incredible sketchbook transports us to worlds that leave no one unscathed.
Organised into six chapters (dreams, mystical, mythological, retro, medieval and science-fiction), this description defying sketchbook introduces us to visions beyond anyone’s imagination, except Jaouen’s!
About Jaouen Salaün
Jaouen Salaün is a French artist. He has illustrated, written, and participated inthe production of textbooks, children’s books, playing cards, comics (including the recent Asphalt Blues and Elecboy volumes), magazines, and books.
“I've filled up tons of sketchbooks lying in bed in the evenings. [...] Nearly all the drawings in this book were done under the same conditions: [...] drawn in one go, without prior pencilling, be it with or without a specific plan. [...] I get lost in the shapes, lines and small details, particularly as I am often in a lethargic state; on the verge of falling asleep. [...] Every night I dream about what I will draw the next day.”
