FLUHARTY Thomas

Thomas Fluharty was born in 1962 in California. He studied art from a young age and attended classes at the National Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied oil painting following Dutch and Flemish techniques. His major inspiration icons are Bouguereau, Ingres and Rembrandt, whose methods shaped the way he portrays contemporary pop-culture icons. His favorite creations are portrait caricatures drew with his Prismacolor 901 pen Blue Indigo and oils paintings. 

His work was recognized by the Society of Illustrators in New York and Los Angeles, and he won the Communication Arts prize for his illustration in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2013.
