About art book The Sun Room

After a few years of creating personal pieces outside of work, exclusively in traditional media, Beatrice Blue teamed up with us, Caurette, to make a beautiful art book out of them! Something extra special about this book is that we have decided to make it in the same exact size as the artist's actual sketchbook  the one she carries everywhere... This way, the drawing will be presented to you in their truest form!

The Sun Room is a 14,7 x 20,7 cm (5,8 x 8,4 inches) hardcover book. To make it extra special, we chose to have a cloth cover cover with hot stamping that will be beautifully protected by a colour dust jacket! The design of the cover and dust jacket are complementary and present two different stage of the same illustration: just the outline stamped on the cover, and the final design printed on the dust jacket. Inside, you will find 224 pages of art that will open the doors to a magical and wonderful world.

The book is trilingual (English, French, Spanish) and includes a preface written by artist Pascal Campion.

"The Sun Room is very special to me. It carries all my most valued and beloved paintings and sketches, gouache landscapes and characters, pencil drawings and sometimes notes; things I thought I’d honestly never share. It’s a selection of the pieces that have brought me the most joy and have made me grow the most as an artist during the last years."

They are talking about it...

"Each illustration is a dazzling marvel. It is colorful, lively, soothing, cheerful, and sunny. Each page is an adventure, a dialogue, a journey, a comfort. We flit between sketches, portraits, landscapes, and paintings as if in a dream. It starts off going in all directions, but very quickly we realize that everything has meaning, and the journey takes shape. We move forward on the path to freedom, pleasure, discovery, and innocence."
"The Sun Room offers us a rich and luminous imagination, populated by charming little childlike characters, beautiful landscapes, striking portraits, wanderings through different places, flowers and stars... Through sketches, drawings, gouache, and pencil, we are carried away by poetry, wonder, memories, and inner journeys."
"It's intimate, there's a bit of everything, landscapes, characters, scenes... it brings together several years of work, it's poetic, luminous, and very beautiful. You enter a world of great sensitivity. It's a rather magical world with imaginary characters and enchanting landscapes in shimmering colors! It's beautiful and delicate ❤️"
"A beautiful way to immerse yourself in the magical world [of Beatrice Blue], a blend of enchanted forests, colorful flowers, and fierce, mischievous little heroines straight out of a mushroom or a shooting star potion. But also in her wanderings around the world, through the landscapes of Japan, Spain, France and Scotland. A book to leaf through and immerse yourself in its adorable, delicate and sparkling universe, at any age and at any time. Or a lovely gift for lovers of drawing with wonderful echoes."
"This book [...] draws us into [Beatrice Blue's world] like a waking dream, where imagined landscapes, fragments of memories, snippets of stories, fleeting thoughts, and moments of life unfold—all captured on paper with great sensitivity and enhanced here and there with notes taken on the spot. The Sun Room is the luminous inner travel journal of an artist in search of herself, a precious distillation of her world, faithful in size and spirit to her original notebooks—allowing us to better approach the very soul of her art 📚."
