Bruno Maïorana is a French comic book artist and illustrator.
He followed a traditional academic path and enrolled at the Beaux-Arts in Angoulême, before moving on to the comic book department. He was thoroughly bored there, but it was there that he met the man who would become his friend and closest collaborator: Alain Ayroles.
Impressed by his talent, Ayroles entrusted him with illustrating the Garulfo series, which had been picked up by Delcourt Publishing. This project would keep Bruno busy for nearly 10 years (the first volume was published in 1993 and the last in 2002) and allowed him to refine his style.
In January 2009, he began illustrating a new vampire series, D, with Alain Ayroles, which concluded in 2014.
Since announcing in 2014 that he was retiring from comic book creation, he has devoted himself to illustration in all its forms, preferring traditional black-and-white work done with a pen, his tool of choice.
In 2026, Caurette published a new version of Dracula, Bram Stoker’s masterpiece, illustrated by Maïorana.
